Eucalyptus oil is an essential oil obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of the Eucalyptus Tree. Eucalyptus oil has wide-ranging benefits as it has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, decongestant, deodorant, antiseptic, antibacterial, stimulating, and other medicinal qualities. It is used in medicines such as cough drops, toothpastes and decongestants.

Eucalyptus oil is also a plant based insect repellent (biopesticide) with a non-toxic mode of action and is an active ingredient in some commercial mosquito repellents. It is also widely used as an antiseptic and deodorizer.
