- Post- harvest process
Tropical Bloom is a naturally processed Arabica, from our Elkhill estate in Coorg. Its name reflects both the vibrant tropical notes within the cup and the gentle, slow nature of the drying process. Produced using SL9 and Chandragiri varietals, this lot is dried slowly on raised beds, allowing the coffee to develop sweetness, body, and clarity while preserving its lively fruit expression.
Tropical bloom consists of notes of ripe pineapple, plum, and sweet citrus, carried by a rich syrupy body and smooth lingering sweetness. The gradual drying process allows the coffee’s fruit character and sweetness to develop naturally, creating a cup that feels vibrant and well balanced.
The strongest notes in Tropical Bloom are ripe pineapple, plum, and sweet citrus, coming together in a cup that feels vibrant, juicy, and beautifully balanced. The syrupy body adds richness and texture, allowing the fruit character to feel expressive while remaining smooth and refined.
Delicate citrus sweetness and soft aromatics linger through the finish, giving the cup a bright, elegant quality that stays long after the final sip.
For this natural lot, sun-kissed ripe cherries are carefully harvested before being sorted and washed with fresh water to remove floaters and foreign materials, ensuring only high-quality cherries are selected for processing. Once prepared, the cherries are promptly transferred onto raised drying beds for slow drying.
Over approximately 20 days, the cherries dry gradually and evenly, allowing the coffee to develop greater sweetness, body, and fruit character while maintaining balance and clarity within the final cup.
